I was going to post an article breaking down the story elements of Mulan, but the draft for that has come to a little more than two thousand words long, so even a quick edit is going to take longer than the twenty minutes I have left today.
So instead, in the name of actually uploading something, I thought I'd share a video from another side, WordPorn.com, which appeared in my YouTube feed today. Specifically, it's a compilation video from a speech by Neil Gaiman given to a graduating class of college students.
I have nothing but respect for Neil Gaiman. He is, more than any other author I've come across, the kind of creator I hope to become. Considering the constant anxiety and fear of failure that's a normal, almost crippling, part of my life... This quote is one I intend to hold onto.
